regression analysis

(logistic regression; logistical regression; logistic regressions; logit model; logistic procedures)

A statistical technique in which mathematical equations (regression equations) are developed to identify relationships between variables. The extent to which one variable changes as other variables change can be determined with this procedure. There are many different variations of regression analysis including simple regression, multiple regression, partial regression, and curvilinear regression.

Logistic regression--A type of regression analysis that is used when the dependent variable is dichotomous (contains only two response categories i.e., gender).
